Australia was built on, and continues to be supported by, the primary industries sector, particularly in regional areas. The seafood industry has been an integral part of this and has shown outstanding resilience and innovation over the years by adapting to the constant challenges that continue to emerge. As the business, social-political and environmental context in which we operate becomes increasingly more complex, now more than ever we must Adapt, Interact and See Food.
Seafood Directions will now come full circle back to the state in which the inaugural event was hosted. The event will be held in Port Lincoln the Seafood Capital of South Australia, the Seafood Frontier.
True to theme the event will now start with the trade show and Seafood Awards Dinner on the Sunday afternoon and evening. The Awards Dinner will incorporate the first inductees to the seafood hall of fame. The official program starts Monday morning but understanding that delegates have come to the most vibrant fishing port in Australia and in doing so there is much to see and learn, Tuesday morning has been allocated to experience the Seafood Industry in Port Lincoln. Proceedings will wrap up Wednesday midday to allow for connecting flights home.
Port Lincoln provides the perfect venue to showcase our Seafood Industry and your support for it. As the Chair of Wildcatch Fisheries South Australia I sincerely look forward to your participation in Seafood Directions 2013.
