Last LIWF at ExCeL a success
This week's London International Wine Fair - the last at ExCeL - was pronounced a success by the organisers and exhibitors alike. Refreshed content, including the MyWineFair Hub, engaging masterclasses and seminars, targeted visitor incentives, and a combination of established and new exhibitors all contributed to a busy and business-like three days. The move to a Monday proved successful with over 4,000 visitors attending on that day, and early indications are that this will be repeated next year.
Visitor numbers topped 10,200, exceeding Brintex's target of 10,000 for this year - a reduced target in line with exhibitor numbers.
Ross Carter, event director, commented: "there is no doubt that 2013 has been the most challenging show to date and it is no secret that there were setbacks earlier this year when a handful of key exhibitors pulled out. Having said that, many companies who did exhibit reported a very rewarding Fair and a good number of companies who have not had a presence over the last three years have either committed to, or made positive comments about, a return next year. We could feel the renewed energy and optimism over the last three days and a sense of excitement over the return to Olympia next year."

The show will return to Olympia next year as the London Wine Fair with a renewed focus on the UK market including dedicated sections for bulk and boutique wine importers. £30million has been invested in Olympia in recent years, giving improved logistics, floor space and air-cooling. The London Wine Fair will run from Monday, 2nd June to Wednesday, 4th June 2014.
