Indian Ice-Cream Congress & Expo 2013 (IICE) will be held in Ahmadabad this September. The event is 3rd in a row organized by Indian Ice-Cream Manufacturer Association (IICMA), President, Rajesh Gandhi also the Managing Director of Vadilal Ice-Creams, informed.
Indian Ice-Cream Manufacturers Association (IICMA) is a professional non-profit organization dedicated to the education and communication of responsible and ethical practice in the Ice Cream industry and strives to promote & enhance the quality, image for safe ice cream manufacturing, networking and guidance to ensure the future success of the Ice Cream industry.
Gandhi also informed the media that ongoing season has been very good for the ice-cream industry this year. Industry would have 20% growth this year he added. Sudhir Shah, Secretary of IICMA and also Director of scoops Ice-Creams, Hyderabad told this year Ice-Cream industry invested a lot of capital in creating new factories and up-gradation of technologies in the existing facilities. Shah runs multiple businesses in the ice-cream industry. Apart from a modern processing unit he holds a chain of Ice-Cream parlors by the name of ‘Cream Stone’ a very unique way of serving ice-creams to the Hyderbadis.
IICE 2013 in Ahmadabad will be a great opportunity for the Gujarat’s ice-cream industry. They will come in contact with global trends during the congress. We have been inviting speakers from all across the globe in all previous editions of the congress said Rajesh Gandhi. This is also we are expecting speakers from Italy, Germany, Denmark and USA apart from Indian Pioneers.

Sudhir Shah informed “Gujarat and Delhi together account for 30 per cent of the country's Rs 3,000-crore ice cream market that is expected to double to the value of Rs 6,000 crore by 2014-15. Almost 35 per cent of the ice creams sold in the country are consumed in the western region with Ahmedabad being the main market, followed by 30 per cent in the north, 20 per cent in the south and 15 per cent in the eastern and central India.”
