Greeting to World Coffee Leaders Forum
[World Coffee Leaders Forum], the first international coffee forum in Asia, was held for the first time in November 2012, in Seoul, Korea. The mission was to find sustainable development methods through discussing and sharing world coffee industry issues and challenges.The world coffee industry is currently facing new challenges as the industry undergoes change. The coffee industry is expanding from its traditional producers and consumers of Europe, North and South America toward Asia. Asia is currently experiencing a rapid increase of both coffee production and consumption. The economic development of the coffee industry in Asia (including Korea) is steadily increasing both quantitatively as well as qualitatively. The Asian Coffee Market has gained the world's attention due to its potential.
Asian coffee producing and consuming countries are contributing value and facilitating dynamic communication between producers and consumers across countries and continents. The Asian market holds an increasingly important position within the overall world coffee market, and with its expanding role comes the responsibility of leading trends, development, and overcoming crisis of the world coffee industry.
Following a successful debut in November 2012, this year's 2nd annual 「World Coffee Leaders Forum 2013」 will examine and discuss further in-depth topics of the World and Asian Coffee Industry, and expects to attract more than 1,000 participants from 30 countries.
