The best wines of Russia and the Old World at the Russian Wine Fair 2013
The annual international exhibition "Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair 2013" completed its work in Moscow.
This year, along with the production of wineries from Spain, Italy, Moldova (Prednestrovie), Portugal, France and other countries, the professional visitors were presented with the products of Russian winemakers from the Rostov region and the Krasnodar Territory.
An important outcome of the first day of the exhibition became the negotiations with the representatives of the HoReCa sector, which took place on the collective stand of the Don Valley wineries organized by the Administration of Rostov region. The parties discussed the prospects of development of wineries in the Rostov region and outlined plans to promote the region's products in Moscow and Central Russia. Wine boutiques, cafes and restaurants of the capital plan in the near future to provide its guests not only with a wide selection of foreign production but with the wines of Don Valley also.
A unique event at the exhibition became the gastronomic sets from Michelin-star chefs from Europe: beautiful Italian Tereza Galeone, who showed the culinary traditions of the beloved by Russian gourmets country and her charismatic French colleague Thierry Schwarz with the exclusive presentation of haute cuisine "Surprises of France", which was accompanied by the new French wines. Tasting sets from Michelin stars continued in the best restaurants of Moscow, where visitors were able to appreciate the gastronomic combinations of European cuisine with Russian wines. Our Russian wines - participants of Russian Wine Fair 2012 - added exotics to Michelin chef’s dishes and successfully competed with their Italian and French counterparts.
Master classes are a traditional and integral part of the Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair program. This year, Italy, Spain and Portugal presented their wines in the restaurant "Monument" on November 21. And a day earlier at the restaurant "Fusion" the famous French winemaker Patrick Leon, presented his new Russian rose wines from the "Lefkadia" along with the already known Chateau d'Esclans 2011.
The results of the tasting competition "Best Wine of the Year" were announced during the exhibition and the winners were awarded with the Golden national award for the quality of alcoholic beverages. All participants of the ceremony were presented with a new edition of "Russian Buyer’s Guide 2012", created by the Union of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia and Asti Group Exhibition Company.
The geography of the business program of the exhibition has spread not only to the restaurants but also to wine boutiques, retail chains and wine bars of the capital, where foreign exhibitors continued to acquaint professionals with their collections of wines that are not yet represented in Russia.
The intrigue of the third business day of the Russian Wine Fair 2012 was staged for the wine market professionals and representatives of the trade media in the wine bar "Vintage" where all participants could take place in a blind tasting of wines from the Old World and Russia.
Following the wine tasting a discussion took place, dedicated to the situation in the domestic market and the prospects for winemaking in Russia. Nariner Bagmanyan, President of the Asti Group Exhibition Company, the organizer of the exhibition Russian Wine Fair, assured everyone that her company will not rest on its laurels, but will be working on new forms of exhibitions. The most popular format of wines promotion among all offered this year will be used in the future. "We are confident that we will be supported by those domestic and international companies, who are interested in promoting their products using the proposed marketing strategy of our company", - said Nariner Bagmanyan.
