Alimentaria México, the most important international food, drink and restaurant equipment event in Mexico, will be held June 4-6 2013 at Centro Banamex in the Mexican capital. This 11th edition will be a must-visit event for the over 12,000 professionals from Mexico and 25 foreign countries and more than 400 exhibitors who are expected to take part in the 2012 event. The Alimentaria México trade fair is characterized by its international and professional nature.
Last edition, a total of 11,263 people attended the event and they not only visited the stands of close to 400 companies with 5,000 products from 24 countries, but also took part in the various activities which as a whole helped create an entirely professional business environment. On this occasion, the international pavilions from Argentina, Korea, China, Spain, The United States, France and Nicaragua took part on the trade.
The products exhibited in Alimentaria Mexico are present in all sectors related with the food and drink industry:Dairies, sweets, cake shops, fruits and vegetables, meats and cold meats, fishes and sea food, conserves and frozen food, not alcoholic drinks, liquors and wines. Moreover, Alimentaria Mexico, presents the 4th edition of Restaurama, oriented to the Canal Food Service, Restaurant and Hotel managers, distributors, professional buyers of the industry, chefs… Restaurama is oriented to provide solution, conversation, and food and drink presentation.
It is worth noting that the results of visitor surveys, the significant turnover they manage and the variety of products they were interested in were key aspects of the successful planning and design of this international Mexican event, which benefits both exhibitors and visitors.
Strong internacional presence
This year, countries such as Belgium, Russia, Brazil, China, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Korea, the United States, South Africa, Malaysia, Canada, Vietnam, Turkey and India were in attendance, displaying their offerings for visitors. Through the different State Pavilions, Mexico had the opportunity to present the food and agribusiness products of its regions. Additionally, Michoacán, Guest State at this edition, displayed its producers’ offerings.
The Innoval 2011 Pavilion confirmed its reputation as a forum for new items, with the most important food and drink brands and products launched over the past 12 months being presented at the event. The best products were recognized by a jury made up of representatives from the Mexican Restaurant Association, Walmart, Canainca (Spanish acronym for the National Food Conserves Industry Association), Grupo Litoral, Soriana, Palacio de Hierro, Grupo Medios IQ, Proyecto GENyo, AMEE, Grupo Corvi, Centro de Orientación Alimentaria and Alfa Editores Técnicos. The winners of the 2011 Innoval Awards were:
· 1st place: Baked Pea Snack. Brand – Calbee Snapea Crisps. Snack Category.
· 2nd place: Zignum Mezcal: Silver, Reposado ("rested") and Añejo ("aged"). Brand – Zignum. Alcoholiuc Beverages Category.
· 3rd place: First Day of Picual Harvest Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Brand - Castillo de Canena. Olive Oils Category.
Large and dynamic range of activities
The 11th edition to be held in the Mexican capital offered a wide range of products, featured business conferences such as the Eurocentro NAFIN Business Networking Meetings, and presented seminars, lectures, round table discussions and culinary activities of the very highest standard. These activities included the 5th Mexican Gastronomy Conference - Alimentaria TRENDS; the Logistics and Distribution Seminar; the Innoval Pavilion; wine tastings and the Nutrition Seminars. The wine tastings, logistics and nutrition seminars and company presentations attracted more than 1,200 visitors from the metropolitan area during the three days of the event. In addition, the 5th Mexican Gastronomy Conference - Alimentaria TRENDS professional training event brought in 52 people.
Alimentaria México is a business conference, exhibition and refresher event organised by Alimentaria Exhibitions and E.J. Krause de México, with the support and collaboration of the most important sector organisations and associations in Mexico.
